Lyon

With more than 1,500 employees, the Lyon area is now Boehringer Ingelheim's center of activity in France, and home to six of the company’s nine French sites. The French headquarters and the animal health headquarters are located in the life sciences district of Lyon.

In this area, Boehringer Ingelheim is present across the entire animal health value chain: research and development, production, and supply of veterinary products. Since 2019, nearly €500 million have been invested into R&D and production sites in the region of Lyon.

Lyon Porte-des-Alpes, one of the largest veterinary vaccine production sites in the world

The Grand Lyon industrial biologic center is one of the largest supply centers in Boehringer Ingelheim’s global network. It combines three core facilities:

• Lyon-Porte-des-Alpes, an R&D center of excellence, and production center for veterinary vaccines.
• Lentilly, a center dedicated to the filling, visual inspection, packaging and storage of veterinary vaccines.
• Jonage, a future production site for veterinary active ingredients, which represents a major investment of €355 million.

One additional site nearby Lyon is Saint-Vulbas, a clinical research center for veterinary vaccines and pharmaceutical products.

Ridgefield

Ridgefield is home to the company’s US headquarters. The site serves as a key research center for human pharmaceuticals.

Shanghai

Shanghai, China, serves as an important hub within the global network of all three business areas – Human Pharma, Animal Health and Biopharmaceutical Contract Manufacturing.

Ingelheim

The company headquarters of Boehringer Ingelheim are located in Ingelheim, Germany. It is the largest site, serving both launch and commercial supply.
