Koropi

With more than 50 years in Greece, Boehringer Ingelheim is the only international pharmaceutical company in the country with its own manufacturing facilities, producing innovative medicines. In 1975, we inaugurated our production facility in Koropi, which is located in Attica, near Athens. This plant supplies not only the Greek market but also over 90 countries around the world, with more than 500 employees currently working there.

Solids production with global scope

In Koropi, we manufacture and package solid dosage forms with global supply scope to reach patients around the world, with a current focus on innovative antidiabetic drugs.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new production building in January 2024 marked the beginning of an ambitious expansion plan, which aims to extend our reach from Koropi to an estimated eight million patients globally.

This expansion is part of a substantial investment program, designed to increase our manufacturing capacity for both existing and upcoming medicines, some of which are in the advanced stages of our strong innovation pipeline.
