Cardiovascular Renal and Metabolic Health | Boehringer Ingelheim

Cardiovascular, renal and metabolic health

Over one billion people worldwide - that’s one in every eight people - are living with cardiovascular, renal and metabolic (CRM) conditions, which affect major organs such as the heart, kidneys, and liver. Collectively, they are the leading cause of death worldwide, responsible for 1 in 3 deaths. Since these organs work together to keep us alive, having one CRM disease increases the risk of developing others. Additionally, having more than one CRM condition doubles the risk of dying, either of the conditions themselves or related complications, so early diagnosis and treatment are crucial.

Our unparalleled expertise in CRM conditions such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases are driving our mission to deliver targeted solutions that will improve not only cardiovascular, renal or metabolic health, but health overall. By finding people at risk earlier, we can prevent disease, get the right diagnosis faster, and start treatment sooner—relieving stress on individuals, families, and the healthcare system.
