In 2024, we reached 66 million patients, up from 61 million in the previous year. The past year saw two important products in Human Pharma coming close to market introduction: zongertinib in oncology and nerandomilast in fibrosis. We are on track to launch up to 20 new treatments in Human Pharma by 2030. ## Therapeutic areas ### Eye health We are working on targeted solutions that allow us to preserve the retina and prevent vision loss. ### Inflammatory diseases We are developing new therapeutic options to treat chronic inflammatory and fibrotic diseases of the lung, gut and skin. ### Cardio-renal-metabolic health Addressing a group of connected disorders, including heart failure, chronic kidney disease and type 2 diabetes. ### Cancer Our cancer research explores new ways of directing the immune system to profoundly affect the course of cancer. ### Mental health We focus on treatment approaches that target specific symptoms in people living with mental illness. JARDIANCE® added a third indication for the treatment of chronic kidney disease. We now know how important kidney health is for heart health and we also know how important it is to diagnose kidney diseases early. In 2024 we successfully completed clinical trials, representing another breakthrough in the advances we have made over the past decades in the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), which affects about three million people worldwide. 66 million patients reached in 2024 20 new human pharma treatments planned for launch by 2030 21.9 billion EUR net sales in Human Pharma > 150 active research partnerships on four continents 7.7% year-over-year increase in R&D investments Zongertinib, our investigational oral HER2-specific tyrosine kinase inhibitor, showed encouraging efficacy and tolerability in Phase Ib primary analysis.
