Registration and Onboarding

What is Ariba SLP?

Ariba SLP, a module of SAP Ariba, facilitates supplier onboarding at Boehringer Ingelheim. To become a supplier and participate in bidding events, it's essential to complete the registration process in Ariba SLP using a standard, free-of-charge Ariba account.

How to register in Ariba SLP?

The registration process is initiated by a Boehringer Ingelheim employee. You'll receive an email prompting you to log in with your Ariba account and complete a supplier registration questionnaire. This questionnaire collects general supplier information such as name, address, VAT, financial and tax documents, and requires acceptance of the supplier code of conduct.

What is KYBP?

Know Your Business Partner is Boehringer Ingelheim’s risk management tool. It navigates you through mandatory assessments which are an integral part of the overall Third-Party Due Diligence Process at Boehringer Ingelheim. Successful completion of these assessments is a prerequisite for issuing a Purchase Order.

Why do I receive e-mails from KYBP, even though I don’t have any new tenders running with Boehringer Ingelheim?

Even without new tenders with Boehringer Ingelheim, you may receive emails from KYBP. This is because risk assessments in KYBP have predefined cycle times determining their validity. Once this cycle time ends, the tool automatically initiates the renewal process, ensuring continuous work with our suppliers. Additionally, extending an assessed supplier to a new country or commodity may trigger a new assessment. As always, KYBP will guide you through the necessary steps.

Bidding Process

I was invited to a sourcing event. What is it and how should I proceed?

Sourcing events or RFX, are processes to collect information from suppliers (RFI), collect quotes (RFQ), collect business or service proposals (RFP), among others. Usually, as a result of these events a supplier is awarded a contract. In our company, sourcing events are handled via SAP Ariba. Please follow these instructions to participate in the sourcing event.

What is SAP Ariba, known in Boehringer Ingelheim as "weBuy"?

SAP Ariba, also known as weBuy within Boehringer Ingelheim, is an e-commerce solution that our company has selected as the preferred platform to transact with our suppliers. In most countries, we currently use this system to run and award sourcing events as a result of a bidding process, and to raise and route Purchase Orders to our suppliers. Boehringer Ingelheim does not use SAP Ariba to receive invoices from suppliers.

Do I have to pay to use Ariba Network?

Ariba Network offers two account types for suppliers. Standard accounts are free of charge, while Enterprise accounts entail fees. Unless you are offering a catalog to our organization on Ariba Network, you are not required to register an Enterprise account. For more information about the Ariba account types click here.

How do I configure my Ariba Network account (notification preferences, user creation, etc.)?

How do I know what SAP Ariba account type? What is my ANID?

The Ariba Network ID (ANID) is your Ariba account unique identificator. You can find your ANID and your account type in your account settings, at the upper right side of the Ariba dashboard.

Purchase Orders

How do I configure the e-mail where I receive my Purchase Order notifications on my Ariba Network account?

The Network Notifications section indicates which system notifications you would like to receive and allows you to designate which e-mail addresses you would like to send them to.

1. Click on "Notifications" under "Account Settings".
2. Switch to the "Network" tab.
3. You can enter up to 5 e-mail addresses per notification type. You must separate each address with a comma but NO space between the e-mails.
